Everyone knows about “Spring Cleaning”. As the weather gets nicer we have the sudden desire to rid our houses of unnecessary junk, mop our floors, and all in all, make it feel like we have our life a little, more together for the upcoming season. But have you ever thought about applying “Spring Cleaning” to your mental health? Putting it all out there and being able to feel refreshed as spring rolls in? No? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered! Here are five journal prompt ideas to check in with your mind and mental health this season. It’s ok if you’re not someone who typically journals, there’s no right or wrong to do it. Just grab a pen and a piece of paper and jot down whatever comes to mind! You’ll be surprised how relieved you might feel afterwards.

1: Mentally, what needs “Spring Cleaning” for you? Is there anything in particular taking over your thoughts? What are any possible solutions to this particular thing? If there are no solutions, just write about how it makes you feel.

2: Is there anything you know you need mentally let go of? What is it? How is it affecting you and your attitude? Why is it time to let it go?

3: Make a should-do or want to do list. Write down a list of things that you should or want to do but that aren’t urgent or imperative. Once you have this list written it might be a good idea to hold on to it for when you have free time and want to do something that will bring you joy.

4: What are your goals for the upcoming season? For the rest of the upcoming year? How are you going to make these goals attainable? (Click here for our advice on how to set attainable goals!)

5: What daily habits or rituals would you like to incorporate into your day to day to help keep your mental health feeling good?

Hopefully if you decide to take the time to answer one or more of these prompts you feel a little bit better afterwards! A new season and another year can come with lots of emotions and memories. If journaling is feeling like it might not be enough to keep you mentally in-check this spring, therapy could be a great option. Click here to book your free consultation with Mayra today.
